Acid-resistant stainless steel nuts

Hexagon nuts A4 DIN 934 — NERON Piła range

Acid-resistant DIN 934 nuts create detachable connections with screws and threaded rods of matching diameter and pitch. Their hexagonal shape makes spanner installation easy. Also consider nut dimensions, mating component materials, connection load and operating environment. The standard designation helps identify the right fastener type but does not replace checking all parameters.

Coarse thread and available diameters

Standard A4 designs include M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, M18, M20, M24, M30 and M36. Their thread pitches are:

• M3 — 0,5 mm, M4 — 0,7 mm, M5 — 0,8 mm, M6 — 1 mm.
• M8 — 1,25 mm, M10 — 1,5 mm, M12 — 1,75 mm.
• M14 and M16 — 2 mm, M18 and M20 — 2,5 mm, M24 — 3 mm.
• M30 — 3,5 mm, M36 — 4 mm.

A fine-pitch screw needs a nut with the same pitch. For example, standard M10 in this range has a pitch of 1,5 mm and does not fit M10×1,25. Check the complete thread designation before choosing a replacement.

Small packs and A4 nuts for larger assembly jobs

Match quantity to servicing or assembly work. Standard M3 and M4 come in 50 or 1000 pieces, M5 in 30 or 1000, M6 in 20 or 500, and M8 in 10 or 250. M10 has packs of 5 and 150, M12 of 5 and 100, M14 of 3 and 50, and M16 of 2 and 50. Larger M18 and M20 nuts come in 1 or 25 pieces, M24 in 1 or 15, M30 in 1 or 10, and M36 in 1 or 5.

Each pack size is a separate range item. Compare quantity in the name with the “Quantity sold” field on the product page to distinguish a single nut from a bulk pack.

Special M10 “dichromate” design

The range also includes an M10 A4 DIN 934 nut marked “dichromate”, 1 piece This is a separate design. Before using it instead of a standard nut, agree the surface and thread requirements for your connection.

A4 acid-resistant steel and technical requirements

Product pages specify acid-resistant steel A4 and standards DIN 934 and PN 82144. Select material for the actual operating conditions. “Acid-resistant” does not mean resistance to every chemical, concentration or temperature. If the design requires a specific mechanical class, material document or confirmation of resistance in an environment, include these requirements when enquiring about a product. Alternative designs are found in the category A2 stainless steel nuts DIN 934.

Installation and thread galling

Friction can cause mating stainless fastener threads to gall. Select installation method and any lubrication according to connection requirements and technical recommendations. Do not determine tightening torque from the M size alone.

Frequently asked questions about acid-resistant DIN 934 nuts

Do all diameters come in packs of 1000 pieces?
No. Those packs are available for standard M3, M4 and M5. Other diameters have their own pack sizes.

Can I replace A2 with A4 based on diameter alone?
Check thread pitch, dimensions, mechanical requirements and the operating environment of the complete connection. Material designation alone is insufficient to approve a replacement.

How do you prepare an enquiry for NERON in Piła?
State size, thread pitch, DIN 934, A4 design, quantity required and project requirements. Use the NERON contact page or compare other hexagon nuts DIN 934.
