ALLOY STEEL FOR QUENCHING AND TEMPERING
40hm steel is a steel for quenching and tempering and hardening. It is easy to machine and heat-treat, but is not weldable. It features high strength and ductility. A higher quantity of alloying additions affects hardenability. 40hm steel is used to produce machine components and parts exposed to varying loads, such as axles, gears, rotors and levers. As a steel distributor, we ensure the highest quality of our products and services. Our high standard of production, services and sales has been recognised by certification companies. We supply steel products nationwide. We invite you to explore the details of the Steel Trans range and contact us with any questions.
APPLICATIONS:
42CrMo4 steel is intended for hardening and general heat treatment. It is also very easy to machine. This type of steel is not suitable for welding, although welding is permissible under appropriate conditions when it is soft-annealed. Pressure welding can be performed by friction, resistance or electrical methods.
