Insert bearings
Self-aligning bearings are components combining a simple construction with versatile applications. They are found, among other places, in agricultural and construction machinery and transport equipment. They are designed for use in relatively simple bearing arrangements, but additional housings can expand their capabilities — these components are available in the Neron shop.
Characteristics and applications of self-aligning bearings
A self-aligning bearing consists of a ball bearing with a spherical outside surface and seals on both sides. This component can also be installed in a housing available in various designs, including pedestal and flange versions. Self-aligning bearings are very easy to install and remove: simply slide them onto a suitable shaft to use their capabilities in the system. The construction of these bearings involves relatively large radial clearance.
The simple construction of self-aligning bearings results in versatility and high strength. Consequently, when installed correctly, these components can function efficiently for many years. Self-aligning bearings are highly resistant to external factors and extreme temperatures — these components can operate from −30°C to as much as 200°C with a suitable cover. This allows use in many branches of industry and in construction and agricultural machinery. Their specification suits installation on short shafts and in systems where slight thermal expansion is required.
