A4 acid-resistant stainless steel

A4 acid-resistant wedge anchors are stainless steel designs selected for fixings requiring suitable corrosion resistance. For installation in concrete, both the anchor material and the approval of the specific model for the substrate and expected loads are important.

Compare diameter, length and permitted fixing thickness. Describe environmental conditions, especially moisture and contact with chemicals. Throughout the wedge anchor section you will also find zinc-plated designs.

A4 anchors for concrete — material and service conditions

A4 designs are considered for fixings exposed to moisture or outdoor conditions if the specific anchor documentation permits that environment. An anchor can secure a bracket, base or installation component according to the project. Corrosion requirements, loads and substrate parameters together determine selection.

What does “acid-resistant” mean?

This name does not guarantee resistance to every acid or chemical. Consider medium type and concentration, temperature and contact duration. A particularly aggressive environment may need a material other than A4. Suitability for these conditions should be confirmed for the selected fastening system.

How do you prepare an A4 wedge anchor specification?

State the required design: A4 designation and product code or project material requirements.
Specify geometry: diameter, anchor length, fixed-part thickness and hole arrangement.
Describe the concrete: its class, condition and thickness, and cracked concrete requirements.
State the environment: indoor or outdoor installation, moisture, cleaning agents and other substances at the operating location.
Check documentation: permitted applications, load capacity data and installation instructions for the variant.

Questions about A4 stainless steel anchors

Does A4 mean higher load capacity than a zinc-coated design?

This cannot be inferred from the material name alone. Load capacity depends on anchor construction, dimensions, substrate and fixing conditions. Compare technical data for specific products.

Can an A4 anchor be used in every damp room?

Humidity is only one factor. Chlorides, temperature and other chemical effects also matter. Approval for one environment does not mean suitability for every high-humidity site.

Can the nut and washer be replaced by any parts?

Use set components or replacements permitted by the manufacturer. Dimensions, material and properties must meet system requirements. Similar appearance and matching thread do not confirm compatibility.
