Ribbed reinforcing bars
Ribbed bars or reinforcing bars are strong reinforcing steel components distinguished by characteristic grooves across their entire surface. High material strength combined with this construction gives them a wide range of demanding applications. They are found primarily in construction, where they reinforce residential, industrial and other buildings.
Reinforcing steel — indispensable support in construction and beyond
One of the most important features of reinforcing bars is their material. They are made using reinforcing steel, meaning steel grades in the B500 category (including B500B, B500SP and B500NC), and sometimes also stainless reinforcing steel grades (such as AISI 316 and AISI 304). Their main advantage is very high strength and resistance to many external factors, including mechanical damage. As a result, reinforcing bars can be successfully used in load-bearing structures requiring components with the highest durability. Steel components in the A-IIIN category are particularly popular, featuring high hardness and very low susceptibility to bending. All this makes ribbed bars among the most important construction solutions, while also being valued in various branches of industry.
Key reinforcing bar parameters: length and diameter
How do you choose the right reinforcing bars for a particular application? Since most of these components are made from the same material or very similar variants, product dimensions are the main purchasing criterion. Two basic values matter here — length and diameter. They are usually given in millimetres. The Neron shop range includes bars with diameters from 6 to 20 mm and lengths from 500–3 000 mm. Our customers therefore have a wide choice of solutions that can be matched to the intended application. The choice should depend primarily on the project assumptions, particularly the required building load capacity and stress levels.
