How to select the pulley and bushing
Check the belt profile, pulley diameter and number of grooves. Use a type 1008 bushing and select its bore to match the shaft. The designation 1008 identifies the bushing type, not the shaft diameter. Allow for the keyed connection. Available from 1 piece, fulfilment within 48 hours. The pulley price does not include the bushing; both products are ordered separately.
Taper Lock 1008 bushing installation — summary for Optibelt
Switch off the drive and secure it against starting. Follow the machine manufacturer's instructions.
- Degrease the shaft, bushing bore and both tapered surfaces; leave them free of oil.
- Insert the bushing into the hub and align the threaded and unthreaded halves of the holes.
- Lightly oil only the screws and fit them loosely.
- Position the assembly on the shaft; if a key is used, maintain clearance above it. Check pulley alignment before and after tightening.
- Tighten evenly with a torque wrench: Optibelt TB 1008 — 5,7 Nm for each of the two screws. Do not apply this value to other types or brands.
- After 30–60 minutes of operation, stop and secure the machine; check that the screws are tight. Protect unused holes with grease according to the instructions.
