LOCTITE 638 is a high-strength, fast-curing, general-purpose retaining compound.
LOCTITE® 638 is intended for bonding cylindrical fitting parts, particularly with narrow gaps up to 0,25 mm. It cures in the absence of air when confined between tightly fitted metal surfaces. It prevents loosening and leaks caused by impacts and shocks. It works on both active metals and passive substrates, exhibiting remarkably fast curing. It offers good high-temperature resistance and oil tolerance, and also tolerates minor surface contamination.
  • Ideal for retaining on shafts and gear drives, fitted wheels and coaxial parts
  • High strength on all metals, including passive substrates (e.g. stainless steel)
  • High-temperature resistance
  • Tolerates light contamination, including industrial oils
