Selection and applications

Select belt profile, datum diameter, number of grooves, ratio and drive load. The bushing must be type 2012 with a bore matched to the shaft. Check the key connection, alignment and belt tension. NERON in Piła helps select power transmission components.

Taper Lock 2012 installation tips

  1. Stop the drive and secure it against starting. Check the condition of pulley, bushing and shaft, and compatibility of their designations.
  2. Clean and degrease the shaft and tapered surfaces of the bushing and pulley seat. Align the half-holes according to the instructions. Lightly oil the screws; do not lubricate tapered surfaces.
  3. Position the assembly on the shaft. If a key is used, maintain the required clearance above it. Check pulley alignment and tighten the screws evenly with a torque wrench.
  4. The Optibelt 2012 bushing uses two screws and a tightening torque of 31 Nm. For a bushing from another brand, use its manufacturer's instructions; do not transfer the torque automatically.
  5. After approx. 0,5–1 hours of operation, stop and secure the drive, then check tightening torque, alignment and belt tension.
